Postal (2026) — slow letters for a fast world
An iOS app for intentional monthly letter exchanges with people in your circle, designed to bring back the emotional weight of written correspondence in a hyperconnected era.
What was the problem?
Digital messaging is frictionless, which makes it disposable. People crave more meaningful connections with those around them, but the tools they have optimize for speed, not depth. Postal explores what happens when you reintroduce deliberate slowness — one letter per month, one real person nearby.
What I was exploring
Whether friction, when intentionally designed, can become a feature. And to what extent a social product can be simplified before it loses its purpose.
Current status
Designed in Figma, developed in SwiftUI with Supabase as the backend. A one-off project where design decisions are tested directly in code using Claude Code: no rollovers, no gap between intent and implementation. Under active development.
